The aesthetics of paving every habitable corner of the earth in granite has reached Paris too. The Pavillon de l'Arsenal in Paris is showing a [project to reconstruct the Champs-Élysées](http://parisfutur.com/projets/les-champs-elysees-en-2030/?ref=theparnassian.com) by the architect Philippe Chiambaretta and his agency, painfully reminiscent of Moscow's Muzeon park and of the futuristic ideals in films such as "Elysium". The avenue is proposed to be rebuilt by 2030\. Some may even find the solution rather pretty, only do not forget that the verdant paradise will conceal the famous ensemble of façades, which is considered an important part of the French heritage. Of course, one must understand that reality will in any case be far from the visualisation, if only because of the traffic flows, which sit uneasily with granite road surfaces, unless the city centre is fenced off from cars altogether. On the proposed plan I noticed the re-paving of the famous star around the Arc de Triomphe, laid out under Napoleon III, and of the Concorde (Place de la Concorde), created by Louis XV for the wedding celebrations of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.
