The first is the Church of the Saviour the All-Merciful in the village of Spass on the left bank of the Volga, built at the very beginning of the 19th century. Although the church has not been in active use since the late 1930s, it has retained its historical value and remains an important part of the Volga landscape.

In the Poshekhonye District, the ensemble of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in the village of Korino has been recognised as a cultural heritage site. The church, dating from the late 18th and early 19th centuries, has preserved its authentic architectural elements; it was not closed during the Soviet years and for more than two centuries has remained the spiritual centre for local residents.
