I hardly know how to comment on this Facebook post by the architect and former MARKHI professor Evgeny Ass. The gatehouse of MARKHI, which occupies the Volynsky-Vorontsov estate, has turned into this. The structure has undergone several transformations of late; I remember that not long ago it looked like a booth made of plasterboard. Now it is this. I cannot tell what it resembles more: a tragicomic allusion to the age of Nicholas I, or the woodshed at the dacha of the head of some state corporation. And above all, I cannot understand whether the rector has seen it. Does he pass through this gatehouse on his way to work? Or is he led in with his eyes shut..
