Bank of America has compiled a new report on the state of the art market. Despite the anxiety expected among art market participants over Trump's re-election, conditions for buying art are improving.

As the report explains, in the past two presidential election years sales of art at the autumn auctions fell sharply. "Election results reduce collector activity until the political course of the new government becomes definitively clear."

Competition among bidders is diminishing, which means that buyers will be able to acquire works at more affordable prices than in recent years.

Bank of America estimates that art collectors will take an active part in the New York auctions next week and at Art Basel Miami in early December.
