At the reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris, the Archbishop of Paris, Laurent Ulrich, appeared in vestments by the celebrated French designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, aged 75, who in his day created outfits for Lady Gaga and Pope John Paul II. For the opening ceremony Castelbajac also designed vestments for the other clergy present in Notre-Dame.

By tradition, the festal attire of the clergy is white or violet. Castelbajac proposes an alternative palette, reminiscent of a playing card in Uno, the livery of the Lidl supermarket chain and the Google logo, but most of all of the colours of the American Masonic lodge of the Order of the Eastern Star, which counts half a million members worldwide. White, green, red, blue, yellow: in precisely that order.

Well, it is a logical development of a plot that opens with a sacrificial flame and continues with the replacement of the reliquary of the Crown of Thorns by a kabbalistic circle in the course of the restoration, one of whose sponsors is Jean-Luc Tinland, Grand Master of the European Grand Lodge of the Universal Brotherhood, which borrowed the symbolism of the Eastern Star.
