Does it not strike you that a spyglass is most conveniently put to the eye on the same side as the hand that holds it? Clearly not the left hand to the right eye.

The question, properly speaking, is for Tsar Saltan, from what is probably the finest screen adaptation of Pushkin of all time, Alexander Ptushko's film of 1967.
